Frequently Asked Questions
What is OrbitQ?
OrbitQ is a mobile app for tracking rocket launches. You can follow upcoming missions, get countdown notifications, and keep up with the latest from agencies around the world.
How do I enable launch notifications?
Open the app and tap on any upcoming launch to view its details. From there you can track the launch and choose your notification preferences. Make sure notifications are enabled for OrbitQ in your device settings.
Why did a launch time change?
Launch schedules are updated by agencies and can shift due to weather, technical holds, or range availability. OrbitQ pulls in the latest data regularly so countdowns and times reflect the most current information available.
How do I stop tracking a launch?
Open the launch detail screen and tap the tracking button to remove it from your tracked launches. You will no longer receive notifications for that mission.
What is Auto Tracking?
Auto Tracking lets you automatically follow launches without manually tracking each one. You set filters — such as specific agencies or launch locations — and OrbitQ will automatically track any upcoming launches that match. New launches that fit your filters will be added as they appear, and you'll receive notifications for them just like manually tracked launches.
How do I set up Auto Tracking?
Open the Auto Tracking settings in the app and choose your preferred agencies and/or launch locations. You can also set whether a launch needs to match all of your filters or just one of them. Once saved, OrbitQ will immediately sync matching launches and keep them up to date automatically.
How do I turn off Auto Tracking?
Open Auto Tracking settings and disable it. This will remove your saved filters and untrack any launches that were added automatically. You can turn it back on at any time.
What notification preferences are available?
For each tracked launch you can choose which notifications you receive. The available options are:
- 24 hours before — a reminder the day before launch
- 1 hour before — a heads-up as the window approaches
- 5 minutes before — a final countdown alert
- Status updates — notified if a launch status changes (e.g. scrubbed or successful)
- Schedule changes — notified if the launch time is updated
All five are enabled by default. You can adjust them in the notification settings in the app.
